Theobald Matthew Karch, 88, Naples, Florida

Theobald "Ted" Matthew Karch, 88, of Naples, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2012. Born to the late Theobald and Marjorie (Blanc) Karch on August 9, 1924 in Corona, NY, Ted lived in NY prior to relocating to southwest Florida in 1990.

Ted enjoyed playing the trumpet in his brother's dance band before joining the Navy and serving in the Pacific. Following his discharge, he worked for Sperry Gyroscope (Unisys) as a major subcontract buyer. Upon his retirement, he went to work for Snap-On Tools in their industrial sales department, until he and his beloved wife, Marie, moved to Naples to live at their St. Nicole condo until their move to Pebble Creek condo in 2006.

Before moving to Naples, Ted and Marie enjoyed skiing in Vermont at Pico, as members of the Sperry Ski Lodge. Once in Naples, Ted enjoyed fishing and was a faithful member of St. Williams Catholic Church.

Ted was predeceased by his brother, Frederick; sisters, Gladys Mangan, Catherine Petrizzo and Louisa Donangelo. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marie; children, Paul, Susan, Theodore, David (Karen) and step-daughter, Christina Bornstein; sisters, Theresa Karch and Dorothy St. John; grandchildren, Theodore, Brian, Daniel, Timothy, Noah, Marina, Meadow and 2 step-granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha Bornstein.

Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Calverton National Cemetery.
