Global Footprint Network is currently seeking a Senior Manager, External Affairs.

Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead Global Footprint Network's major donor program, creating and fostering long-term stakeholder relationships that grow our financial resources and network globally. As Senior Manager, External Affairs you will work closely with the organization's Founders, Susan Burns and Mathis Wackernagel, and be the primary liaison with our global Board of Directors. Further, you will seek out and cultivate new relationships that strengthen our organization and lay the foundation for future growth.

To be successful in this position you must be seasoned, organized, discreet, and highly motivated to create mutually beneficial relationships with a group of influential individuals working toward achieving our mission.

The Senior Manager, External Affairs will report to the Head of Client Services.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Executing all aspects of the organization's Major Gifts program;
  • Planning and executing high-profile events for our Board, VIPs and donors throughout the year;
  • Managing your own Major Gift prospect portfolio;
  • Coordinating and producing all Board-related events, including 2 in person meetings per year, and serving as the Board's main administrative point of contact;
  • Facilitating the organization's Ambassador Council, a high-profile group of supporters worldwide;
  • Supporting the Founders and Board Chair in researching and cultivating donors, tracking progress on each potential supporter and providing all organizational fundraisers with the tools and guidance they need to raise money from individuals.

Qualifications:

Education:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience fundraising with individuals, foundations, capital campaigns, planned giving or a combination
  • Proven knowledge of donor cultivation processes and fundraising databases
  • Knowledgeable about environmental sustainability and global resource issues

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and meet deadlines
  • Must be a reliable, detail-oriented, self-starter
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and contact management systems such as Salesforce
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable, but not required

Travel:

Must be willing to travel nationally and internationally on a regular basis

Compensation: Global Footprint Network offers a benefits package and competitive salary that is commensurate with experience. Health insurance, 403(b) and other benefits are provided. This is a full-time position located at Global Footprint Network's offices in Oakland, CA. Our collegial, open-plan office is located in an attractive neighborhood with good transit access.
