Your 10 Day Detox Questions Answered.... | Brien Shamp

Happy Easter!

I have received lots of interest in the 10 Day Group Detox and a number of great questions.

Question 1: The value of the program seems high, but the cost is low. Does the price include the supplementation needed for the detox and are they any additional hidden costs?

Yes, the cost is low for this program because Metagenics (product supplier) gave me a good volume discount that I am passing on to you. I sold over 120 kits last year after Easter and I ordered a large volume of kits this year given demand for a spring cleanse is generally high. Also, I am hoping to entice you by price given I want you to suffer with me ( I am doing the program also) :)

Given the success of the program over the last year, there is lot?s of systems & support. There is an introductory & post detox meeting, daily motivational e-mails with recipes and advice and an on-line forum, so people can share about their experience and help one another.

Question 2: Is this a diet?

No, this is a 10 day program designed to decrease toxicity which, I will cover below and it is a process called food elimination which can make you aware of food sensitivities, food intolerances and food allergies. Over the course of 10 days, we will remove the common food stressors that create problems for the body. The most common foods are dairy, wheat, gluten, soy, sugar, nuts, seeds, alcohol & caffeine. We will then add them back in one at a time and see how you feel with their re-introduction.

We have these food reaction issues because of food processing, over-cooking food, food quality issues, faulty digestion, lack of food variety and more.

Most people will notice a reduction of weight, fatigue, sinus issues, digestive complaints, headaches and achieve better sleep and energy by removal of one or more of the common food stressors.

The best way to find out if you have a food reaction is to remove it for a period of time, as we will do during the 10 day process.

Question 3:

I don?t want to be hungry. Will I be eating food?

If you are hungry on any of my programs, you are not following the program. We now know that extended juice fasts are not as beneficial for the process of detoxification (elimination of toxins) and that the process of detoxification is improved with the right foods. We will be eating specific foods to aid in the elimination of toxins and to optimize the efficiency of all organs, glands and systems. You can eat as much as you want of the foods on the approved food list.

Question 4:

I?m very skeptical of short term fixes. What positives are there in the long run? After 10 days do you just go back to normal eating and feeling how you did before?

This is a great question and you should be skeptical of short fixes. This is not a fix, this is a cleanse or a detox, which is a program designed to assist you in the removal of toxins (chemicals in consumer products, pesticides, herbicides, plastics, pharmaceuticals and more) that are creating havoc on the liver, kidneys, intestines, skin and other organs. These organs are under constant stress and basically get fatigued just like us.

One study showed that 287 chemicals were detected in the umbilical cord blood of newborns. 180 of the 287 chemicals are found to cause cancer in humans and animals. 217 are toxic to the brain & nervous system and 208 are shown to cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests (Environmental Working Group, July 2005). Just think what happens to these newborns as they get older.

In 10 days, we are just scratching the surface by supporting the organs that are responsible for eliminating toxins, but it is a start. By eating specific foods that reduce our toxic load and taking specific supplements that support detoxification & elimination of toxins, we will start to learn what it feels like to have consistent energy, good quality sleep, less or no headaches, less pain, reduced stress and a decreased waistline. All of the positive benefits are the result of a healthy system with less toxicity.

My hope is that by committing to this program for 10 days, you will see that you can indeed go longer and get even more benefits. I consider a thorough program to be about 30 days. Even then, if you go back to a lifestyle of eating pasteurized dairy, white flour, sugar, alcohol and caffeine, the positive results will not last.

Here is the deal?to be healthy it is hard work. I am personally committed to feeling my best because I have a family and I feel bad when I don?t have the energy to play with my kids. It is also too expensive for me to get sick and not work. I also need to feel my best to help more people like you. If I am tired and sick, I am no good to anyone and I truly want to help you create the health & vitality you need to accomplish your dreams.

I do not have time to be sick, tired, in pain and neither do you. It takes daily action and it is hard, but the payoff is awesome. If you can do 10 days of a lifestyle that promotes health & vitality, you can do 21 days, then you can do 3 months, a year and a lifetime.
